Description
Test and inspect manufacturing process of machine tools at various stages. Verify accuracy and efficiency of machine programming, set up and operation of manual and CNS machine; recommend modification of machine set up and operation. Inspect, test, and adjust new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs, and fixtures. Test units for fit of moving parts and mechanical functioning, examine defective parts. Measure surface finish of parts using profilom.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Must have 1 year of training in mechanical engineering/technology
  • 2 years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent a must
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and operating in a 3D Measuring Environment.
  • Experience with Zeiss Calypso & U-Soft
  • Lay-out, 1st Piece, In Process, and Final Inspections
  • Very strong background in GD&T and ability to read and understand complex machining drawings and CAD Models
  • Use precision inspection measuring devices, such as: Johnson gauges, Sunnen gauges, Bore gauges, etc. a plus
  • Familiarity with SPC Software, X & R Charts, Histograms a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO-9001:2000, AS9100, & TS16949 a plus.
